Light Bonds

Artist Statement

Reflection contrives elegance, elegance feeds domination, and desire sustains the machine. The process unfolds, stalls, then begins again. Transcendence permanently deferred, longing slips into a poison passion at the intersection of perversity, pornography, and politics. Photographers pretend innocence, as if their intervention is separate from the scene they capture in their lens. But the photographic act is decisive. The print seizes the other, without remorse, and enchains that subject within its frame. It is a Hegelian dialectic that never allows resolution. This series explores photography as a struggle with an inevitable outcome.
