Aesthetic De-commodification Project

All the prints in the "Noncommodity" section of this site, and many of the works in the "Assemblage" section are available to collectors. However, beginning in 2026, I will no longer make them available for (monetary) purchase. Instead, in order to obtain one of these assemblages or prints, the interested collector must contact me personally through the United States Postal Service. In other words, anyone who wishes to possess one of these assemblages or prints must write a letter requesting the work. I will ask that the “purchaser” hand write or type the letter on onion skin paper, and include a detailed explanation of why the “purchaser” wishes to “own” the work.

Provisions: 

1. Any work or works committed to gallery shows are not available; 
2. This purchase arrangement only applies to wall mounted works from the "Assemblages" section of this site, and prints from the "Noncommodity" section of this site;
3. Institutions, curators, dealers, and gallery owners are not eligible for this arrangement; 
4. The artist has specific requirements for any potential “purchaser,” and reserves the right to refuse sales if the requirements are not met; 
5. The “purchaser” is not responsible for any (monetary) price or fee for the artwork itself, but is responsible for standard shipping costs. 

The art world is driven by capital. So much for the obvious. What then, for artists, and for audiences, who find their work and lives corrupted by commodification? A return to community, to the bonds we’ve nearly forgotten. My work lives with my friends.
